Hello everyone!

I bring to your attention my game for “1-Button Jam 2024”. (https://itch.io/jam/1-button-jam-2024)

Help an astronaut get to Earth. Get a job as a bartender in a bar and earn money for a ticket home. Invite new visitors to the bar and pour them drinks. But be careful, adjust the pressure in the cylinders and make sure you don't get fired.

And use only one button - the space bar.

P.S.
The game also has two endings.

I'm still new to this craft, and this is my first jam. It's also my first game, so I expect strict criticism :)
Also in the process of making the game, have ideas on how to further develop it and add new mechanics.

I'll be glad for any feedback.

Love the visual concept. And what a clever way to interpret "space bar!"

Thank you <3

What a cool game!
Just need some background music!
9/10

Thank you so much!

Congrats on completing your first game AND game jam! This is really well made - the little details like the cutscenes and the "press spacebar" prompt being a neon sign in the game all add up and make it feel like a lot of care was put into it. I agree with the other commenters that putting in some sounds and balancing the difficulty would add a lot to the feel of the game. Overall though - well done!

Thank you so much!

I really love your game, the visuals and narrative are super cool! my only criticisms have pretty much been said.  It would be cool if you added something like the treasure chests in stardew valley's fishing minigame, while it would make it feel less original, I think it could make it a lot more fun.

Good Job!

Thank you so much! I'll try to finish the game

First of all, congrats on making your first game. Second of all, the visuals look stellar; I love how this looks. Some small pieces of criticism:

The game doesn't increment in difficulty at all, so it is a little tricky getting in and then is very easy through the rest of the playthrough.

I think the game would feel more immersive and more satisfying if it had sound. Hearing the pressure increase and release on the cylinders, the lights flickering, and/or garbled alien speech when a new customer walks up would enhance the experience a bunch.

I think that the failure-condition should be clearly conveyed. After some testing, I found that failing to make three drinks make you lose, but I feel that that is something that should be conveyed from the outset. I also don't entirely understand what determines if you fail to make a drink (I initially thought that having the right cylinder on empty for too long is what did it but you can fail when it isn't empty) so I think that should be conveyed more clearly as well.

All critique aside, this was an enjoyable game to spend a few minutes on. You've done a good job.

Thanks for the comments. I will try to fix all the above and polish the game properly.

Hi there! Congratulations on your first jam game! I really enjoyed the style and concept. However, I noticed something about the gameplay that might enhance the experience. The green bar feels a bit slow compared to the red dot, which changes position quite quickly. When I tried to align the green bar with the red dot, it often moved again before I could get them to match. Holding the spacebar to level them up was challenging because the green bar's speed didn’t quite sync with the red dot’s pace and i think you used something like AddForce so green bar starts slower (very) and red dot doesn't have something like that. Perhaps slightly increasing the speed of the green bar could make the gameplay feel smoother and more balanced. And I think you could add something to show the timer for remaining time to catch the bus (like a desk clock on the table). But still enjoyed the game. Well done!
